Introducing: The Timothy Course
The Timothy Course was written and developed by Pastor Kenn Baird (Senior Pastor of New Life Foursquare Church, Hastings, United Kingdom) in 2006 to train local developing leaders and Church members for Mission and Ministry. Since then, many students from across the nation have studied on the course and moved on into ministry opportunities.
The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy,
‘You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others’ ( 2 Timothy 2v1-2).
‘All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work’. (2 Timothy 3v16-17).
‘Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching’. ( 1 Timothy 4v12-13).
These ‘charges’ given to Timothy are the core basics for the Timothy Course.
About The Course Content
The Timothy Course is a modular course. Each module contains 5 Study blocks with each building upon the previous. Assignments and activities as you progress are designed to enhance your learning. The Course takes a Spirit filled approach with a strong Trinitarian base and a focussed Christology throughout.
Module 1 (Understanding The Basics).
In Module 1 you will study, Bibliology, and how to handle the bible, The Sabbath concept, principals and applications, Understanding and applying Communion principals, Exploring the Fall of Man, Redemption & The Plan Of Salvation, Grace and living in Grace for today.
Module 2 (Systematic Theology)
In Module 2 you will study, Imputation, The Resurrection, The Person & Work of Christ, The Eternal Security question, The Ascension & Exaltation of Christ, The Trinity.
Module 3 (Pneumatology)
In Module 3 you will study, The Person & Work of the Holy Spirit, Sanctification, The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, The Gifts of the Holy Spirit, The Fruit of the Spirit.
Module 4 (Church History)
In Module 4 you will study, The Early (Patristic) Church & The Early Church Fathers, Gnosticism & The Creeds, The Great Persecutions, The Reformers & The Reformation, Modern Church History, Foursquare Church History & Development.
Module 5 (Kingdom Ministry)
In Module 5 you will study, Deliverance Ministry, The Danger of the New Age Movement, Divine Healing, Principals of Evangelism, World Mission, Principles of Evangelism part two.
Module 6 (Eschatology)
In this Module you will study, introduction to eschatology, Daniels seventy weeks are the rise of the Anti-Christ, the rapture of the church, knowing your enemy and the millennium.
Module 7 (Preparing for Leadership)
In Module 7 you will study, Hermeneutics, Homiletics, Exegesis & Eisegesis, Counselling Skills for Ministry, Time & Stress Management , The Leaders Prayer life, Spiritual Warfare.
Module 8 (The Leader in Action)
In Module 8 you will study the leaders prayer life, spiritual warfare, wisdom, dominion and seed-time and harvest principles.
